Dive trips are organised to sites in the UK, the coast and inland quarries, and sometimes trips abroad. The variety of trips is based on where club members want to go to and who is willing to help organise something.
Drift Dive the River Lune - Sunday 22nd August
Spanning the River Lune at Kirkby Lonsdale is a three arched bridge called the Devil's bridge (OS reference is SD 616786) It is probably 12 or 13th Century and is a scheduled ancient monument. It is great for picnics, paddling etc and also good to dive and has ice cream vans, so it's good for families as well as divers. The river is about 4 metres deep and a good plan is to drift downstream for 20 minutes and then fin back up (takes about 40 minutes). Or you can go down to a weir and walk back or get someone to come and pick you up!) We will be meeting there between 9:30 and 10 am Sunday 22nd August.

Farnes 2010 July 17/18 Next years annual diving trip to the Farnes has been booked for the weekend of 17th and 18th July. For those new to the club or who haven't done this weekend before, it is an ideal family weekend because diving only takes up half a day. Many of us take our better halves away for a well deserved break after putting up with our diving activity for the rest of the year.
We normally go out of Beadnell harbour to the Farnes and do 2 dives and return around lunchtime. Last year we went out with a new skipper and crew who were very professional and everyone I spoke to afterwards thoroughly enjoyed the event.
To take advantage of the weekend you need to be an Ocean Diver, so divers new to the club should be qualified by then. This weekend is likely to be over subscribed so get your deposits in early.
Easter 2010 in Nuweiba - not long now yippee!!!!
A bit of information about some common dive locations we use
Quarries
Capernwray just north of Lancaster is a favourite of ours used for training trips as well as just fun. Stoney Cove near Leicester is also near by and a recent trip to The Delph near Chorley was great fun.
The coast
The Farne Islands and St Abbs are popular destinations. Both excellent for swimming with seals and lots of other marine life. If you are 'into wrecks' the tips to Scapa Flow are also arranged.
This year we will be visiting even more sites such as Lundy Island and North Wales/Anglesey
Abroad
In the last couple of years club members have gone to Gozo and The Red Sea
What does it cost
The costs of trips varies enormously. Quarries are cheapest but we always try to keep the costs for other trips within reach.
By sharing cars and vans we also try to keep travel costs down within the UK (as well as being that little bit greener!)
