There are three components to the cost of joining up: Membership of BSAC at a national level, club fees and if you don't have your own dive kit an equipment hire charge.
BSAC Membership
Membership of BSAC gives you: access to loads of diving resources information, help from BSAC and the branch, the monthly DIVE magazine, voting rights and 3rd Party Liability Insurance cover giving cover for up to £10,000,000. (Visit their webpage from our links for more information)
Club Membership
Membership of the club gives you the opportunity to dive in the Metrodome 50 weeks at year (We usually don't operate for two weeks at Christmas and the New Year) and as much training as you need to become a safe, competent and confident diver. Pool fees and instruction (and all equipment for the first 5 pool sessions if you join to train as an Ocean Diver) are covered by your branch membership. Equipment
Buying your own equipment is expensive so if you aren't sure what equipment you want and where you will go diving you can hire kit from the club for both pool training sessions and trips away.
Club members are more than happy to share their views and experiences of different makes and suppliers for any dive kit you might be interested in.

Equipment can also be hired for dive trips
When you join the club the first 6 months is payable in advance, after that you can pay either 6 monthly/annually if paying by cheque or cash, or quarterly by direct debit.
