Trip Report – Pembrokeshire 2016

Here are a few selected highlights from the club trip to Pembrokeshire in June 2016, via the National Dive Centre (NDAC) in Chepstow. NDAC was a good experience – nice to have mini-bus transfers to and from the kitting up area – what luxury. The quarry itself, whilst deep in places,  offers some good diving in good visibility.

We had great weather on Saturday for our trip aboard the Wandrin’ Star with skipper Mark Deane, although a couple of divers unfortunately succumb to sea sickness during the transfer to Pen Brush and Strumble Head. Good sea life and rusty metal – lots of Dogfish, huge Spider Crabs, and, a curious seal!

The team enjoyed a great meal out the ‘Sloop’ on Saturday night – fresh mackerel, yum!. Despite the weather turning rainy on Sunday, two good low viz dives were completed on the wreck of the Gramsbergen and the reef of Pen Anglas. As an added bonus, we even had a Dolphin alongside the boat!
